My recruitment journey - Leeds, Manchester & London

My 11 year journey with Network Marketing has seen me work in our Leeds, Manchester and now London offices.

Starting in Leeds (2005) was a great introduction to Network Marketing as a company – a growing and dynamic place to work, which it still is today. My focus was to build a professional services (PS) desk in Yorkshire, working with some of the great regional/national players like Pinsent Masons, Addleshaw Goddard, Eversheds, DLA Piper and PWC to name but a few, whilst strengthening the city’s financial services marketing teams, most notably First Direct and HSBC. Leeds was classed as the financial services / (PS) centre of the north at the time; it was a vibrant place to recruit in those days and still is today.

This proud Yorkshireman then took the short journey over the M62 to help set up our new Manchester office in June 2010 and to be with my other half. A great new challenge lay ahead as I’m sure my wife could tell you!

Manchester is a great city – fast moving with some impressive leading marketing headquarters in the heart of it. The remit again was to drive our professional services brand in the North West, whilst still delivering for my Leeds-based clients. Manchester and Leeds have great marketing talent pools and have a real buzz about them. When you see global and Magic Circle (top five globally) law firms creating their central and European hubs in the north you know these cities are doing something right!

I found the Manchester professional services networking scene really impressive too and you can clearly see why marketers would want to live, work and party in this city. We continued to grow the professional services brand over the years, along with our retail and agency propositions which Manchester is also widely know for.

Then in December 2014 London came calling, with a great opportunity to service some of the world’s leading professional services players and to continue developing our brand in the sector. London, as we all know, is a thriving city and offers marketers in professional services so many opportunities, nationally, internationally and sector-led. Ok, we had Brexit but London still remains a hot spot for professional services and is the bullseye spot for PS marketers to really challenge themselves and grow and develop.

Salaries and the level of choice of roles in London may be somewhat different to those of the regions, but one thing remains the same - the PS sector, no matter where it is in the north/south divide, still remains strong and continues to grow – just like Network Marketing!

Happy 20th Birthday.
