Business Development Manager

Salary:£40000 - £50000 per annum


Currently expanding their UK sales operation, this market leading Global retail solutions provider are seeking to appoint a proven Corporate business development specialist based in the North West.

They boast a client list that includes Samsung, General Motors, Boots and Asda to name a few, the primary focus for the successful individual will be to expand their UK footprint in targeting the retail sector. It is expected the business wins will have a sales cycle of between 6-18 months from conception to completion, whilst UK focused their may well be some international travel expected.

Its expected the successful applicant will have a proven record of success within the Corporate retail sector, equally more hunter than farmer in their approach. The sale is very much a solution based conceptual sell, with expected targets year one in the region of £500,000, increasing through years 2 and 3 as your pipeline becomes more established.

Job Description:

You're target market will be large retail clients (B2B) and you will take control of the new business development, researching, approaching and developing relationships with these organisations on a global scale. Here's what to expect day to day

• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the Retail Corporate sector

• Research and build / establish relationships with new clients, building your pipeline.

• Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.

• Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.

• Working closely with technical pre sales and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.

• Submit regular progress reports and ensure data is accurate

• Regular Travel across the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA

What We're Looking For:

• The ideal candidate will have come from a retail background and will already have some well-established contacts within the industry and have a passion for the industry

• Must have experience of developing new business and building your own pipeline

• Experience in a new business development/account management role

• Self-starter who is target-driven and motivated – must be comfortable in a target oriented environment.

• Excellent communication and expert presentation skills.
