TheMuse.com - Is the UK crying out for something similar?

Categories: Recruitment ,

Here at Network Marketing Towers we were really impressed with this radically good recruitment website. I guess we're not quite doing it justice by calling it a recruitment website as it is far more than we have all come to expect. It isn't a list of faceless jobs, platitudes and hollow claims about offices in 10 countries (that all seem to be PO Boxes...) - It's a complete portal of career advice, company profiles, detail about the people in those companies, and of course, jobs! What's really nice about it is the detail that is on offer for job seekers. You get a real understanding for what the company is about and a feel for culture, personalities and environment. It's a bold move by Kathryn Minshew, the founder, to set up something like this and to keep faith with the principle of offering a portal for career advice. The Daily Muse is a series of really good articles for the US job market and was the original foundation of the site - you can see how they took the step towards a more 'jobs' based site. What we're puzzled about is that there doesn't seem to be a similar site in the UK. Mass market job boards are pretty much dead with niche providers starting to take the lions share of quality business - perhaps this is the next logical progression? We've got our digital agency on to it...
