The Primal Network

So we were at it again… never a team to back down from a challenge, we took on the Primal Stampede in Leeds Dock on Sunday 23rd August. A fantastic, well organised event put on by Leeds Dock based Primal Gym saw us take on challenges such as “Primate” and “Brain Freeze” along the 4k run.…

The Tour is coming! The Tour is coming!

We have a couple of self confessed cycling nuts at Network Towers – covered head to toe in form-fitting lycra with bikes worth more than our houses (that’s how you know you’re a proper cyclist!). Our idea of fun is to cycle the 30 or so miles to Holme Moss or Buttertubs pass and then cycle up those beastly climbs, before a quick coffee and cake stop and finding a slightly longer route home!…

Total Warrior Contenders – But Will We Finish?

The folk at Network Marketing have entered a team for this year's ‘Total Warrior’ challenge in late June at Bramham Park. We have a couple of sporty types in the office who keep themselves pretty fit and everyone else has promised to do some decent training. Having done the event last year, I know just how much fun it is, but it is 13km over varied terrain and lots of tricky obstacles so you do need to be relatively fit.…

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas...

Here at NM Towers, we've had a fantastic year and are seriously looking forward to the much anticipated Christmas break (and with a few still nursing hangovers from last Friday’s festivities we’re ready for it!). Our annual Christmas appeal was a great success. You might recall, instead of sending out cards this year, we once again elected to make a donation to Barca-Leeds, one of our nominated charities. Last Wednesday, exactly one week from Christmas Eve, Barca’s team put on a spread of Christmas treats and gave out presents to 49 local children who otherwise might not have received any gifts at Christmas this year. It was a special afternoon with Santa arriving with his two donkeys which brought about a lot of smiles.…

Network Marketing Does Tough Mudder For Charity

12 miles, 10,000 volts, mud, even more mud, ice, more ice… you get the picture. If there's anything I’ve learned from Tough Mudder it’s that they didn’t hold back when naming the event ‘Tough Mudder’. It's tough. Yet I still decided it would be a great idea to join in on Saturday 13th September 2014, here's how I got on.…

Homelessness And The Many Uses of Cardboard

As regular readers of this blog will know we are avid supporters of Simon on the Streets and the great work they do with limited resources to support homeless and rootless people in and around Yorkshire. With little of no marketing budget they seem to produce some great campaigns that really get you thinking, supported admirably by a range of business, in particular McGrath Rainey Laird.…

Simon On The Streets - A Very Special (Ruck) Sack From Santa

Here at Network Marketing we love the work that Simon on the Streets does for the homeless and rootless in and around Yorkshire. They support some of the most vulnerable people in the area by helping them to do things that we all take for granted. Like engaging with social services, helping with finances, providing access to housing services and many other things.…

Simon On the Streets - This Is What We Do

Here at Network Marketing Towers we have long been supporters of Simon On The Streets and the amazing, gritty work they do for homeless and rootless people in the Yorkshire region. It's often difficult, however, to explain to people in simple terms what is is they do and explaining in tangible ways, what they actually achieve. Because sometimes, to be frank, it doesn't always work out. By the very nature of people they are working with, the outcomes can be unpredictable. Indeed, the job can be unpredictable.…

Red Nose Day Rowathon (if there's such a thing...)

Red Nose Day brings the worst out in us here at Network Marketing Towers. And whilst we're all relatively fit (!!!) we thought a challenging physical event might inspire us all to do something as a company for charity. So, with a gym in the basement thanks to PT Health and lots of work to do we thought the best plan (well, at least I thought...) would be to do 100k rowing challenge.…

Do You Give to the Homeless at Christmas?

On two occasions over the Christmas period where my job dictates I must attend many 'client Christmas drinks' session (all of which I thoroughly enjoyed I must say!!) I came across two different homeless people and had two different experiences. We're no strangers to the homeless community here at Network Marketing Towers having worked with Simon on the Streets for a number of years raising money to help them support homeless and rootless people in the Yorkshire area.…

The Book do the Abbey Dash

I have a vague memory from around about this time last year - on what was a damp and a bitterly cold day and I had just finished the Leeds Abbey Dash, declaring (probably a little more loudly than I thought I did) that I'd NEVER do it again. So, a year later, at the start line of this years Abbey Dash, I did take a moment to wonder where it had all gone wrong and how I'd ended up dong this run again!!!…

World Homeless Day 2012

We heard on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show that 10th October 2012 was, among other things, World Homeless Day 2012. As a supporter of Simon on the Streets we thought this was worth shouting about.…
